Well, once I got a good look at the CallerID, it turned out it was yet another Microsoft technician from Nigeria, a similar West African Anglophone country to the one where I work in computing (Ghana). I thought is was a friend/colleague from Ghana who does not quite understand the time zone difference, so I stayed asleep, and vowed to call her the next day (today). When I finally got a call back from a tech at an elevated level, it was 4:41 am, so it woke me up a bit. I have spent over 9 HOURS trying over and over again to re-configure my Dell computer so it will print again, some of the time with HP, and much of it with two Windows Technicians, all of whom simply repeated the same steps I had already tried, many times.

(Yes, I like Win 7 even better than Win 10.)ġ) My HP Envy still prints directly to the HP Printer using a USB Port cable.Ģ) My MS Surface 4 laptop / tablet with Win 10 still prints directly to the HP Printer using a USB Port cable.ģ) My Dell Inspiron with reinstalled Windows 10 will not even finish the configuration process, much less print.Ĥ) So, using the two other computers as controls that were not molested by Windows 11, you can easily see that printer is not the problem, because it still works fine the Win 7 and pure Win 10 computers.

Before the Win 11 downgrade, I could easily print from my Dell using a USB cable, of about 2 feet, either connected directly to my HP Envy 5661 printer, or through a simple switchbox that also allowed me to print from my Windows 7 HP Envy Desktop computer. Know that I began computing well before DOS. If I wanted the Apple platform I would have bought an Apple computer in the first place. Once Microsoft reassured me it was real, superficial changes to the interface paled in comparison with my inability to do things like crop in PAINT and easily RENAME files without having to click again to reveal that command on the menu.Īll in all, I consider Win 11 to be a downgrade, not an upgrade, and am waiting for Windows 13 before trying again, LOL.

At first, I thought I had been scammed and there was no true Windows 11. That lasted only two days, because I hated it. I installed Windows 11 on my newish 2021 Dell Inspiron desktop computer. Been there, done that, and it did not work.
